About three years ago, I hired Dave Gottlieb and inherited ownership of this blog. I think most of you will agree that Dave did an excellent job maintaining the blog and keeping it interesting (and pretty humorous) during that time. However, as most of you know, Dave has moved on. So now I am left with this thing, with no real clue of how it works. What I think I do know, however, is New York no-fault insurance law. My intention is keep this thing going, hopefully with the same honesty, evenhandedness, and humor (attempted) as Dave.
So feel free to comment, critique and kibitz as we go on. Thanks.
You all are better off having Barshay at the helm. He knows this stuff far better than I do. Besides, it’s good for the blog. I’m sure most of you were sick of hearing my voice. The blog needed a change; it needed a new voice. I can’t think of a better person to take this over.
I hope everyone continues to read and I wish you the best of luck.
Dave
Thanks Dave. And best of luck to you in everything you do.
Well, we will all miss you Mr. Gottlieb. I would say you and I had a good dialogue between both of our blogs over the last few years. I also wish you well, and look forward to a healthy dialogue over at CPLR land.
I know Dave Barshay (all these Davids’ here) will keep up the scholarship and perhaps the certain viewpoint that this blog has fostered over the last few years, while also keeping some sense of objectivity that we all have expected from this publication.
I know I am going to have my work cut out for me, being a counterweight to the new blog master, but I am sure I am up to the task. I also know that Mr. Barshay and myself, as we have had for many years, will continue to have a healthy dialogue, albeit this time over the blogosphere.
Best of luck to you Dave G, and to you Dave B as you man the helm of this starship.

I have the privilege of calling both of you friend. I wish both of you the best in your new endeavors. As my father used to say: “its just business.” Ah forget that one. People always got hurt when my father said that and everyone is doing just fine here.
I know you both will do quite well and I will continue to converse formally and informally with both of you.
Practical question. How will the BLOG deal with the Zuppa. Will it still present the wide open Zuppa commentary or do I have to plague J.T. even more.
Love you all.
The blog will continue to be a Zuppa-friendly forum. I think it’s time for The Pit’s rebirth as well.
Dave G — I guess I’ll have to make theCPLRblog a daily stop now, too. How else will I know who’s accosting and annoying you on elevators and subways? There’s far too little use of the word “stupid” in blogs these days. This reader appreciates the balance you have tried to restore to the blogosphere’s order in that regard (http://www.nofaultparadise.org/?s=stupid). Best of luck with your new office. Will see you on the other side of the v.
Dave B —
Welcome to the blogosphere. Permit me to make a few suggestions on what you’ll need to keep NFP both a source and resource for NY no-fault practitioners and professionals:
1. Learn and use keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V, Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I, Ctrl+L, Ctrl+N, Ctrl+T and Alt+Tab. You’ll save time and batteries on your wireless mouse.
2. Get friendly with your bookmarks. Visit them often. Especially http://www.nycourts.gov/reporter/Index.htm.
3. Gottlieb’s right about the voice thing. Not the part about we being sick of his voice, but the part about developing and using your own voice for NFP heading forward.
4. Blog for yourself first. It’ll make the labor that comes from good blogging less laborious.
5. Labels, categories, or tags or whatever WordPress calls them would be very nice. Would make it easier to find stuff on here.
6. Don’t drink and blog. You end up saying stuff you’ll want to take back. Unfortunately, with RSS feeds being what they are, your words are forever once you hit the publish button.
7. If, overall, it ain’t fun, it ain’t worth doing. Fun and no-fault may seem mutually repugnant, but Gottlieb seemed to find a way and you will too.
Looking forward to your contribution.
Roy
Good luck Dave and to you as well Dave. I hope Dave G will continue to offer his slant on things and contribute when he can. And I hope Dave B can keep this thing going.
Godspeed David G.
Good Luck Dave G. Thank you for the excellent work, humor, insight and all that touchy feely stuff you seem to HATE!!! Tough shoes to fill Dave B – and I will look forward to your insights.
My hatred is not limited to one URL.
